Internationally acclaimed artist and Principal of Vanuatu Teacher College Eric Natuoivi will hold this 3-day masterclass, guiding participants with his extensive knowledge of the processes and design of pottery. Eric’s art is so influential that it is collected by the National Gallery of Australia.

The master class will focus on a moulding technique, a simple process of making a pot that builds up to a master piece, including burnishing, bisque firing and sawdust firing.  This method is used with limited and less sophiscated tools and equipment.

Participants will produce their own ceramic pieces that will be ceremonially fired in the paper kilns on Lake Cootharaba at the spectacular Firing of the Kilns on Friday 26 June.
