Sound Ecology Walk

5.00pm–6.00pm Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 May Meet at Trails Tent SITE E

Dr Ros Bandt is an internationally acclaimed artist, composer, researcher and scholar, pioneering interactive sound installations, sound sculptures, sound playgrounds, spatial music systems and some 40 sound installations worldwide. Dr Ros Bandt invites participants to join a sound walk where visual dominance is removed through an acute sensitisation to place and sound.

The walk reveals sonic layers and stories exploring the value of listening to the environment.

Dusk Installation Walk

5.00pm–6.00pm Wednesday 1, Thursday 2 & Friday 3 June Meet at Trails Tent SITE E

As the sun sets meet up with a volunteer guide who will walk and talk along the water’s edge of Lake Cootharaba while visiting the working sites of the lead artists of Floating Land. As night falls and nocturnal creatures awake, the foreshore is activated by a series of sound and projection-based installations emerging out of the darkness and superimposed on the lake and surrounding bushland.

Trail maps, available at the Trails Tent, will guide you to the settlement to make your own discoveries.

Wander the leafy streets of Boreen Point and explore the work of local resident artists as they open their doors between 10.00am to 3.00pm each day of Floating Land 2011. Muddy Waters Studio: 14 Vista Street, Boreen Point
